In Santa’s Sleigh
  • How did Usagi get herself and Mamoru out the elevator in episode 34?
  • Does Usagi actually use perfume besides episode 19? I’ve only seen her put on potpourri in the S movie.
  • What do you think Rei & Mamoru talked about on their dates?
  • Are there any bromances in this show besides Mamoru and Motoki?
  • What would it have been like if they had Motoki and Usagi dated in PGSM?
  • What if Umino & Usagi dated in the 90’s?
  • Are we possibly missing out on a magical boys team with the Shittenou had they been kept alive in Crystal?

A few questions on my mind:
Why did Tokyopop change the cover art for volume 1 of the manga? Also, why didn’t Tokyopop license Codename Sailor V? And finally why was there a 5 year licensing freeze after PGSM and the Shin Kaguya Shima musical?
Naoko must have read the translation of the Tokyopop translated “Sailor Moon” manga and the “V-babe” line made her cringe. P-:

So when Tokyopop approached her with the interest of publishing “Sailor V” manga, she said no.

Is Neptune's Mirror/Submarine reflection just Mercury's computer on steroids?
It could be a highly advanced & powerful quantum computer w/ an artistically crafted appearance, which can accurately foresee the future either by replicating/mirroring the entire present state of reality in a highly accurate simulation model or directly thru the properties of quantum mechanics. :)

Like I said in another thread, it's weird to me that Naoko introduces the concept of the SPG in the Dream arc and then essentially abandons the idea in Sailor Stars. Where are the Starlights' Sailor Power Guardians? Galaxia's? Kakyuu's?
I think that happened because the Senshi reincarnated outside of their planet.

I remember Tokyopop often telling fans they were interested in licensing Sailor V, so the issue must have been on Kodansha's/PNP's end. Maybe they were unhappy with Tokyopop's handling of Sailor Moon? Or they were starting to build their American/English-language branch and were simply saving certain unlicensed titles for themselves?
Perhaps Tokyopop and PNP(Takeuchi and Osabu) got estranged due to publishing issues like the possible delay of Mixxzine's launch.

Mamoru Chiba: 場 衛 (Chiba Mamoru)
(chi) Earth, ground, soil

Hotaru Tomoe: 土萠 ほたる (Tomoe Hotaru)
土 (do, tsuchi) Earth, ground, soil

Exhibit #40928 that Chibiusa x Hotaru is canon, endgame, Miracle Romance 2.0, etc.

(Also, random semi-related headcanon thought: If Chibiusa and Hotaru had a daughter via Space Lesbian Magic, my money would be on her Sailor Crystal's being called the Lavender Moon Crystal. And, on another semi-related headcanon note: Queen Serenity's Sailor Crystal would be the White Moon Crystal.)

There's actually a lot of subtle parallels between Hotaru and Mamoru! They both have healing powers and are shown to be able to heal scrapes and bruises with just their hand. Both of them turn evil towards the end of their respective arc. Both of them are able to see visions. Both of them aspire to work in medicine (Mamoru a doctor and Hotaru, apparently, a nurse). They both also have the same dark and mysterious vibe.

And, on another semi-related headcanon note: Queen Serenity's Sailor Crystal would be the White Moon Crystal.
I've had this same headcanon too. I've always wanted a prequel focusing on Queen Serenity in her "younger" years and fighting as a Sailor Guardian.

I know that this is a necessary weasel, but the whole "Dark Kingdom turning people into Youma" falls flat when you start to think about it.

Obviously, Jadeite did not have this ability and he relied on Youma that could disguise for his infiltration schemes. Nephrite was able to possess individuals with a Youma, but he had to make physical contact with the individual first and the Youma still emerged separate from the victim.

Then we get to to Zoisite and the Rainbow Crystal carriers. This does seem to work with internal logic as this is something specific to these seven individuals who are monsters reborn as humans, especially when you consider that our heroes are revealed to have a similar backstory, being reincarnated as people from their previous lives from another kingdom.

Then Zoisite decides to "modify" the Black Crystal to turn any regular human into a monster.

This is where the magic starts being a stretch. In all the cases of transformation or possession, it involves something that was already there, either implanting a Youma or essentially restoring the Youma's soul. By contrast, what makes normal people normal people is that we can't just change into monsters. If this is the power of the dark energy, then this changes the Dark Kingdom from being a parasitic invader to possibly eliminating the human species if it ever got enough energy to enable these transformations en masse. Why wasn't this specific threat of a "Youma World" ever brought up to highlight the increased stakes, for instance?

Aside from that though, is the idea that if Zoisite has the ability to change people into monsters with the Black Crystal, why only use it for one episode and for one victim, especially when that mission was a success despite not being able to use the intended target? I would think turning a person into a monster would at least make another temporary lackey and to fight against the heroes would be a smart move. Imagine if when Zoisite dressed as Sailor Moon, instead of merely honey trapping him, Zoisite could have had a human-turned monster waiting, and with the real Sailor Moon trapped, there would be no way of restoring the victim.

Despite Zoisite changing the Black Crystal , the only other time it was shown was when Evil Prince Endymion had it to try to capture the Shadow Warriors again. While it can be inferred this is the method that Kunzite used to change people into Youma, this item is a critically underused tool. And if this is not the method that Kunzite used to turn people into Youma (and there's evidence that it's not, as Kunzite's Youma could talk normally compared to only one sentence for Akan...and Kunzite created more Youma after the Black Crystal was destroyed ), why didn't he do like his PGSM counterpart and attempt to turn Sailor Moon into a Youma? Even if the girls are immune, why didn't he start converting people before he was named co-COO or whatever by going out an converting people to boost their numbers. Even if he's limited to one-shots, he could have converted a group like he did with the women at the salon while the other generals were active. That way you have guerilla Youma out there. Surely Queen Beryl wouldn't have minded if he had created allies who would be spies for the Dark Kingdom while the other schemes are going on.

The sad thing is I love this trope but in the anime it just comes off as...lazy.

I somehow completely overlooked that Ami destroyed the black crystal in episode 41 and yet Kunzite was still able to turn the reporter and Katarina into youma.

It seems the writers forgot an in-universe explanation was provided for non-rainbow crystal carriers being turned into youma and just treated it as something the Dark Kingdom (at least Kunzite) could always do? And for what? Because Toei and Bandai were really adamant about promoting the Crescent Music Stick toy and liked the status quo of Moon using it to restore youma into humans and didn't want to give it the ability to vaporize natural youma too for some reason?

I also find it odd Sailor Moon used Moon Healing Escalation on Kunzite and Super Beryl. Were they reincarnated into good humans? Did Kunzite dying by his own attack null and void any cleansing abilities the silver crystal and moon stick might of had on him? (He at least seemed to believe he would be going to the world of the dead)

You know Moon Healing Escalation doesn't work unless you yell, "REFRESH!" Perhaps they were reborn. It would be funny if those two got reincarnated into good humans...but like Hotaru had to start out as being babies and were magically sent away because of it. Of course that would mean they would just reach their respective ages right about now, 30 years later.

Or better yet, what if they were reincarnated...in the Crystal Tokyo era, so those two got sent into the future! Then again, given that in the Sailor Moon universe, the path to Crystal Tokyo would be a thing by now, so they'd still be in the Crystal Tokyo era...when Neo Queen Serenity awakens everyone from that sleep.

In Stars 5, Princess Kakyu says this regarding the Animamates:

I want to know more about the Animamates who couldn't handle the power of Galaxia's bracelets and died as a result. Who were they, what were their stories, etc.? I guess it's easy enough to headcanon Pewter Fox and Titanium Kerokko as being among them, but I want to know just how many other Animamates Galaxia went through.

What is Sailor Kakyuu's Sailor Crystal called? It's tempting to assume it's just the "Kinmoku Crystal," but then why is her transformation phrase "Kinmoku Star Power" rather than "Kinmoku Crystal Power"? It might also be simply the "Kakyuu Crystal" in keeping with the established pattern (e.g. Princess Mercury > Sailor Mercury > Mercury Crystal; Princess Kakyuu > Sailor Kakyuu > Kakyuu Crystal). It could even have an entirely different name; it would just be nice to get an official name for it.

Speaking of which, does Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon's weapon have an official name?
