Special Features: Clean Opening and Ending, Trailers, Art Gallery, Announcement Panel & Fan Reactions, Dub Recording Behind the Scenes, Official Announcement, Trailer Moonlight Memories Pt. 1, AX Sailor Moon Panel, Official Cosplay Team Interview, Sailor Moon Day Highlights, An Interview with Katsuyuki Sumisawa
The bolded extra implies these might be new discs since he also did an interview with them a while back for InuYasha that's on one of Viz's Blu-ray sets.

Good chance this may have the Japanese upscale knowing they did get them for SuperS & Sailor Stars when Toei sent those masters to everyone in 2017.

It’s the way I had to look up who Katsuyuki Sumisawa is… lol

This is exciting news. I do really hope they use the newer upscale and correct any errors from the older sets.

I already complained about this on Twitter but why is it impossible for Viz to use Marco’s artwork appropriately?? The background is so boring and the image of Moon is poorly cropped. My kingdom for nice Sailor Moon cover art in America.

I’m hopeful that this is using Toei’s upscale.. considering all the other worldwide releases have used it. Still.. a bit doubtful since there’s no mention of it, and you’d think Viz would want to capitalize on that. Hopefully it’s not just a last ditch effort re release to cash in before they lose the license.

Nice. I was interviewed and appear in a couple of the bonus features in this set. I already have the Madman blu sets for seasons 1-3 (along with all of the VIZ boxes) but may have pick this up as well.

Also @NJ- looks like you blocked me Twitter? lol

That’s funny, as I literally haven’t used it in years or interacted with you in any capacity on there (or elsewhere) over the last decade.

Just remembered @ChibiBoi's post from the Stars thread.

Two years ago, they were posting clips during the characters' birthdays, some of which were from the first season which looked to not be from their upscale.

In case the Twitter compression is bad...

I might dip if it’s using the Toei upscale but definitely will if they actually created a new one through AstroRes like Discotek are doing with Digimon

Warner brothers, I guess they helped some production of this.
They have been Viz's anime distributor since 2009 but other than releasing their stuff to retail stores (including major ones like Wal-Mart), they're not involved with the disc work.

Same goes for Simon & Schuster who has been their manga distributor since 2004.

They distribute home media for Viz.

They’ve always been VIZ’s physical media distributors.
They’ve always been VIZ’s physical media distributors.

Oh so they distribute for viz the home media makes sense.

Oh i did not know they were viz’s distributer since 2009. So they are responsible for getting to retail stores like Wal mart and Best Buy. In the past Hastings when it was open. Makes sense they are not involved in making the disc.

Wow they have had Simon and Schuster since 2004 for the manga distribution. That is a long time. It sounds more like a law firm or a hedge fund company than a manga distributor.

Oh wow I did not know they have always been viz’s physical disturber. That is neat.

It is cool that they handle the dvd and blu ray distribution. A lot of viz shows like Pokémon, sailor moon itself, and Naruto got big on Warner brother owned channels. Even if the dub for sailor moon was different at the time a different company when it was on Cartoon Network.

Thanks yall for the clarification. Lol

This looks so much like the middle aged women-oriented, "classy" visuals they usually go for in Japanese releases nowadays.
Wonder if Naoko also has input on international home video covers?

Marco confirmed he did not do the revisions, but believes this might’ve been an earlier draft he did. He also mentioned Toei has an internal designer that can adjust small details.
Was this in a DM? I don't see anything on his Twitter.
