Going through the last chapter (which corresponds to Act 10) now. I'll update as I go along. Here are the most notable things so far:

- Ami uses encyclopedias and a laptop to research the moon when she, Usagi, and Mako are at Crown
- Usagi observes that "No matter how much you look at the moon, you'd never know about our kingdom."
- While wondering how they're going to get to the moon, Ami says, "Usually when you go to the moon, you need a rocket, right? If not a rocket, then a UFO? That's not practical."
- The novel explains that while Luna and Artemis are working away at one of the consoles, all the ordinary people at the arcade just see them as two cats playing with each other
- Kenji and Shingo were actually included!
- When Luna and the girls arrive on the moon, Venus says her ears are ringing. (I just noticed that Artemis doesn't accompany them to the moon. Poor Artemis!)
- Queen Serenity is described as having with beautiful, long, golden hair. Because she looks just like Usagi, Usagi's first reaction is, "Is that...me!?"
- As Queen Serenity talks, Usagi starts to remember her past life, like how Mercury would scold her like an older sister, and how she'd pretend to study to get her off her back.

Update:
"Three of the Four Generals, so briefly brought back to life, had returned to stone. A stone with a translucent green color, like drops of water fallen on budding leaves: Jadeite. A stone of a deeper green than that, like a drop at the bottom of the sea: Nephrite. Lastly, a stone that changed in color from gray to green to pink: Zoisite."

Update 2:
- When Kunzite is freezing Tokyo, we see newscasters freaking out on TV monitors around the city, and people getting emergency alerts on their smartphones.

- "Sailor Planet Attack" and Kunzite's stone are described as follows:

"The swirl of light enveloping the Sailor Guardians formed into an arrow and pierced Kunzite's body! Kunzite opened his eyes wide, as if staring at something incredible, and a stone appeared on his forehead. Without even crying out a dying wail, his body collapsed like sand, leaving only the stone behind. The stone of the merciless Kunzite, whom Queen Beryl had played like a puppet, was, surprisingly, a gentle, warm orchid."

First Queen Beryl had black hair and wore a black dress, now Queen Serenity is blonde.

Lol, so Usagi is oficially blonde and it is not just depiction for manga format. Quite interesting.

the novel isn’t more official than any other media
I know but in general manga and anime don't give descriptions when it comes to hair and color. For art purposes they obviously have a clear colors for hair and eyes, but in most cases they are for the reader. They might descripe Usagi as the girl with wong tails in ponytails, but they never outright say the blonde girl. They are Asians, so they cannot be naturally blonde. I just find it interesting how the novel explicitly states she is blonde, instead of keeping it vague.

Oh very nice MementoNepenthe I love that coloring of Beryl you did with the novel's colors of her with black hair and the black dress. Interestingly enough in the Materials Collection Human Beryl that is to say before she turned evil was depicted with Black Hair and a black dress. Of course when Crystal showed her in this more human form they had her look more like say she did in her regular form with red hair, red eyes and a more purple though a lighter purple dress but still the same design. I would honestly like to see if you are so inclined to do so to fully color the pic as I would love to see what your unique interpretation would be on this design.

^ I was thinking the same thing re: Beryl's original hair and thought that might have been intentional at first.

The problem is the author also got wrong Queen Serenity's hair, so it's clear she only read the manga without consulting other sources like the Materials Collection.

Or she's only seen images from Crystal and the '90s anime where QS's hair was incorrectly colored? I don't get it at all. Kodansha decided to commission a trilogy of light novels adapting the DK arc, but Naoko seemingly didn't care to be involved so they recycled ancient artwork and hired a writer who was unfamiliar with Sailor Moon to pen the books, and then didn't bother editing them for internal errors (e.g. Usagi's knowing, then not knowing Motoki's name) or for franchise inconsistencies (e.g. Beryl's and Serenity's hair colors). Odd, odd, odd.

ETA: Actually, per the author's blog post I shared several pages back, to prepare for the novels, she read the shinsoubon edition. Volume 3 opens with a color image clearly showing Beryl with red hair, followed by a splash/title page in color showing Queen Serenity with silver hair, soooo....

It's been a little over three years (^_^') but I'm finally getting around to going through the third and final of these manga novelizations. Let's compare "Moon 11" with "Act 11," shall we?

After Luna gives Usagi the Silver Crystal pendant, the novel gives a full recap of what Queen Serenity told Usagi in the previous chapter/book about how the Silver Crystal's power works. We then "see" Usagi put on the pendant, hide it under her uniform, and gently clasp her hands over it, thinking to herself, "If you think about [how to use the crystal], it'll become clear."

Usagi sees Luna looking up at her with a worried expression:

"You're always worrying about me, Luna..." Usagi put her cheek against Luna and gave her a hug, then went downstairs. Papa, Mama, and Shingo were in the dining room. Just another regular day. 'I can't believe I went to the moon the other day. I'm always worrying about [Mamoru], but when I'm with Papa and Mama and Shingo, I can go back to being just Usagi, the eldest daughter of the Tsukino family. Besides, I have Luna.'

Instead of bumping into Mamoru, Usagi simply notices a man turning a corner. She's taken aback by his "slender back, smooth, straight hair, broad shoulders, and the way he walks with his right shoulder dropped just a little bit," just like Mamoru. She tells herself it can't possibly be he, but her heart won't stop racing. She suddenly senses something's weird and fishes the pocket watch out of her pocket (obviously she hadn't dropped it as in the manga), which she sees has started running again.

Motoki is the one who notices Mamoru standing in front of the arcade, not Endo.
As in the manga, Motoki initially mistakes Mamoru for a new part-time worker his dad's sent over, but if you'll recall, the novels characterized Crown as a dying business, so why would they be hiring more employees?

"The man's eyes locked on Endo and lit up. It happened in less than a second. Suddenly, Endo faded into a shadow and disappeared. Then the man looked into Motoki's eyes. His eyes once again shone mysteriously, like black diamonds. At that moment, the color of Motoki's eyes changed slightly, and his expression went blank."

A fashionable, long-haired young woman peeked her face from behind the game console.
"Reika!" Motoki raised his hand happily.
"You left your book in the clubroom." Reika, who attended the same university as Motoki, noticed the man sitting next to him and blushed a little. "Oh my. Nice to meet you."
"'Nice to meet you?' Reika, this is my best friend, Endo. You must have met him a bunch of times."
At Motoki's words, Reika tilted her head. "Endo...?" I wonder if... She tried to remember, but she couldn't recall his face. A guy that handsome, there's no way I'd ever forget him...

[Reika] seemed to like stones, and when she started talking, she couldn't stop. She spoke for a while, then suddenly caught herself and said hastily, "I'm sorry! I'm talking your ear off."
The man smiled. "No... It just so happens I have the same four types of stones... I have them..."
After saying this, he silently repeated the names of those stones in his heart. Jadeite. Nephrite. Kunzite. Zoisite.
The stones's names were the same names as the Four Generals.

Looking around the luxurious lobby of the condominium complex, Usagi exclaimed, "Wow! Ami's apartment building is amazing!"
She got on the elevator with the others and was led to Ami's condo. As soon as she opened the door, Usagi ran smack into a gorgeous chandelier and shouted, "Kyaaa!"

(Since Usagi is the shortest member of the group, how low was that chandelier hanging??)

Luxurious furniture in a bright living room. Even there, Usagi was excited and fluffed up the cushions on the sofa. When she was drinking the tea that Ami made for her, Ami brought out a ring with a large diamond attached to it. "Diamonds are said to be the hardest substance in the world. V-chan, hit it with the sword and see what happens." Ami urged her. "Hurry up." Tap. "Ohhhhh!" The diamond cracked and chipped without any effort. "Aaaauugggh, what should I do? Ami told me to hit it! The diamond, the diamond...”

Minako was about to cry. Usagi, Makoto, and Rei looked away as if it wasn't any of their business. "It's okay, it's okay. Mama doesn't care about jewelry, so she won't notice," Ami said, but Usagi and the others didn't buy that. Still, Ami didn't seem to care at all.

(I'll update further as I go along)
