...My what the heck moment?

DiC's creation of the Negaverse improved (or had the potential to improve) the anime. It did for the DiC dub what Chaos did in the manga. By revealing that all the villains--whether they knew it or not--worked for Chaos, it built everything up for a great climax. With how they were going after the future Sailor Cosmos, it makes sense that they only attack Tokyo and cross swords with SM

The anime removed that and it was just generic villains waiting in line for no particular reason.

DiC... if all the villains were part of a larger scheme, all somehow beholden to an entire dimension of evil, it makes sense that they are there fighting SM. It also ramps up the scope tremendously! In the anime, if the greater metaplot is not the war against Chaos, it can be the war against the negaverse.

That's what Fighter4Love fan dub did. They're a fandub that's determined to finish the job DiC started by dubbing everything the Optimum Dub didn't do in the DiC style! And yes, that means the Negaverse is back. For their dub for series finale episode 200 they say

If the 90s dub had made it to the end and kept the Negaverse to the end, then the story of Sailor Moon would be her war against the Negaverse a war that with her victory in the last episode, is finally won.
This...this I can agree with. Also, considering how the Dub handled it, I assumed at the time that "Negaverse" was a code name for "Chaos" at the time as, if possible, I hope Fighter4Love does reveal that this is the case.

Worse thing is, that in Stars part 2 it was shown they learned absolutely NOTHING from S.
Totally, they had little power, little knowledge of the enemy but still chose to go on their own.

That's why I never think they are a good couple because both of them are too headstrong and will lose mind when each other is in danger.

Heh, most, if not all, characters never grow up in the 90s anime. :quagmire:
I think it's not "never grow", but the later seasons weren't handled by good writing, so they went backwards.

To play the devil's advocate, Usagi actually grows up a lot in Stars. She handles Mamoru's abscence with such grace and maturity that sometimes you can't but wonder if the girl on the screen is actually Usagi
Makoto and Rei also grew a lot.

There's nothing wrong with that notorious Sailor Muhrs in Crystal's intro. It looks bad as a single frame but is most likely exaggerated intentionally to create a sense of movement when watched all at once. Not very different from Usagi sprouting a sixth finger in her first 90s transformation.

It's still fun to capture those transitory frames for joking purpose, tho. lol

I cannot stop watching Crystal season II.

  • Wiseman/Death Phantom is scarier than Chaos.
  • Prince Demande is crazier than Galaxia.
  • Sapphire is another excellent villain.
  • Koan is scary and she made a great villain.

  • Stars in both the anime and manga fell flat and didn't live up to the hype.
  • SuperS is a better story than Stars (but not by much.)
  • Season 1 of the 90s anime is the best one for the most part with the best cast of main and supporting characters.
  • Naoko should remake the manga and hire a competent staff to iron out the bugs and flesh out the details.
  • A sequel with a well developed new villain and a new senshi or 2 would be good.
  • The sequel should be written as a manga then adapted to fit in with the 90's anime canon so our Sailor (forum) Wars can continue in perpetuity.
  • Mean girl anime-Rei is actually the better friend. More realistic, more independent and won't put up with Usagi's shenanigans. Anime Usagi didn't commit no seppuku. That's all I'm gonna say.
  • Pegasus is an ugly depiction of a horse.

Anime Rei is basically like Meiling in CCS...

Also a Season 2/R season fan.
Agree that Manga/Crystal Demande is completely insane. I prefer his less bad 90s Anime Version, and same with Saphir. 90's Anime Saphir was not that bad of a guy.
Death Phantom was scary especially with the Black Lady incident.

I like this idea. I think there should be 2 versions of that sequel, one written and drawn by a competent artist and another by Naoko. It'd be juicier in terms of comparisons.

Agree.

Manga/Crystal :usagi:: Mamo-chan is gone! I can't stand living in this world! Metalia, the Earth and everyone make no sense to me anymore.

Manga/Crystal :ami::haruka::rei:: You're right, purinsesu. Don't worry, you won't be alone. We'll commit suicide as well and stay in the Cauldron alongside you.

I think manga Demande actually behaved like a human being.

He is evil and ruthless, but he also cared about his brother and underling, and deep down he knew that his doing was evil. So he tried to abduct Neo Queen because her stare hurts his pride and told him the truth.

love this concept

I'm not sure how a Chibiusa spin-off in the future would look like. I think it's a decent idea, but I have no idea what it would entail.
yes, please :chibiusa:
