Tbh the manga is visually very gorgeous and I‘ve been dreaming to watch the animated version of it for over 2 decades… the fact that we‘re finally getting this keeps my hope (and expectations) alive. Even though I rationally know it‘s going to be a bittersweet experience similar to Eternal.

The new director is a newbie, it‘s very likely that it might be a step-down from Kon - still, I hope he‘s going to surprise us with some freshness. Judging by the teaser, he‘s just emulating Kon‘s style. Still, my hope‘s there.

I watched Dragon Ball Broly a few days ago in the cinema on big screen. I was very impressed by the line art, the film almost looked like it was made in the 90s. I‘m looking forward to see more of Cosmos line art!

It is funny although You can shift universes to see a better or more coherent version of Crystal, you likely have to pull what Setsuna did in Seasons 2 and 3 to go there.
Only to die afterwards and be reborn to come right back here to continue waiting. Might as well just get Saturn to nuke the entire Crystal reboot at least no one will remember it that much after 10,000 years.

Why not? What did she do wrong?

I think she overall improved the storyboard of the manga. She made transitions between sequences, made good shots.
She did not at all
her direction was very basic, but what helped her was the better schedule for the production but thats all
we still have wonky draws, lack of frames, idk why they put neo queen serenity on the script when she stills the princess on the manga and NOTHING was corrected for the home release.
this doesnt look good, thank god it wasnt stock footage:

I don‘t think she did a great job but she did better then Sakai.
meh, I think they were on the same level, she just had better schedule and team
but I do think Sakai could do better with a bigger budget (looking at you Dance Dance Danseur, also he directed Kakegurui op)

edit: now, im dont wanna blame the directors for their work on crystal, i bet they did the best they could do with what toei gave them and im pretty sure they have better works outside this

Realistically, I think somewhere down the line they'll probably reboot the series again. Who knows if it'll be a 1:1 adaptation that Crystal has attempted to be, or something a bit looser than the original anime or live action series.

I don't see them doing Sailor V, or anything related to the original anime. I feel like some sort of original continuation of Crystal is super unlikely.

I can't argue with you, Kon had a MUCH better production schedule than Sakai did. Wait, Sakai directed the OP for Kakegurui?

Kon while adding something didn't made it a horrible experience unlike the Shittenou X Senshi arc along with that horrible Metallia Death Ray scene. Even with a bigger budget and better time management I don't think those scenes will improve even with Studio Ghibli levels of animation. May be if Sakou be given more artistic freedom in terms of story telling with one filler episode for a flashback of the Silver Millenium.

I agree with some of the questionable stuff Kon did like Chronos Typhoon but I do love the animation on that :haruka: kissing :usagi: scene and :mako: using Sparkling Wide Pressure on :chibiusa:.

Also last 2 episodes of season 3 was amazing. Also :hotaru:'s first appearance leading to the Silver Millenium's destruction. Not the best animated but the atmosphere of her appearing and knowing what she'll do next makes up for what's lacking in the 90s.

Yeah. Most of their best staff were placed in One Piece production. XD

I think Kon had the advantage of a.) having a little bit of leverage and b.) only working with 1 season or 13 episodes.
