People are allowed to like or dislike whatever ships they do regardless of it’s canon status. Canon doesn’t always mean well-written, and even if you do ship UsaMamo, people are also allowed to multi-ship. This is all just fiction and shouldn’t be taken that seriously.
There is no rule in the SM fandom that states “you absolutely must ship Usagi and Mamoru with each other only or else you aren’t a real fan!”
Heck even Naoko doesn’t follow that, she ships Usagi with Haruka as well as Mamoru.
Multishipping is good and valid and should be normalized instead of ship wars, just let people like and dislike what they want.
Also Polyamory exists FYI.

When a canon endgame ship is forced and has no chemistry, it's all due to poor writing! From professional TV writers, no less. So, I agree that most canon ships aren't well-written. Writing any relationship, specifically a romantic one requires effort. The characters in a relationship have to share common interests. The latter pairing I mentioned earlier were enemies initially, yet they share a common interest: a book starring a good witch named Azura. The former pairing, on the other hand, yeah, their relationship is so forced! As to why it's forced?! The writers primarily rely on fan service from past episodes. Not only that, but the build-up of Miraculous' titular heroes dragged on for more than three seasons.
I multi-ship because I like to explore the dynamic within different pairings. Ship wars are silly, I completely agree.
