Don't get me started...

  • All of the planets in the Silver Millennium were habitable, not just their moons. The only exception was Pluto (because it's a dwarf planet). The attack of the Dark Kingdom and Metalia sent a wave of dark magic and negative energy that turned the solar system into what it is today. Saturn's cleanup just erased any traces of a civilization.
  • The people associated with a planet had elemental powers or other powers similar to those of the Sailor Guardians. For instance, people of Mars were able to generate and control fire, although generally, women were able to project more easily than men. What set the Sailor Guardians apart was their skill and sheer power with those elements.
  • The people of the planets Neptune and Uranus were demi-humans, but with an unusual sexual dimorphism. The people of Neptune were mercreatures, but those assigned female at birth could grow legs on land and would keep them as long as they stayed dry. Those assigned as male, on the other hand, were bound to the ocean with not only fish tails but a more overall piscine appearance, although they could breathe air and talk. Like many fish, sequential hermaphrodism complicates matters, although most do stay as the sex they were assigned. The people of Uranus were people with wings on their backs, but those assigned as female could cause theirs to disappear when they touched the ground. Sequential hermaphrodism is more much common on Uranus than Neptune, due to the effect called the "winds of change." Certain spots and temperatures can change the people of Uranus from one sex to another in days, and sometimes hours. However, most people of Uranus can avoid the crosswinds and other designated spots and can resist the effects in a scenario where they do not want to change.
  • This also leads into the idea that both of these worlds, unlike the other worlds, have effects on offworlders' bodies. The waters of Nepturne turn all who are submerged in its waters into merpeople, and the sea even calls those who can't swim to dive. Even someone with hydrophobia* will instinctively begin to swim once submerged and absorb water through gills and the transformation is peaceful and pleasant. Offworlders, regardless of gender or sex, can revert to human form by drying out and will not transform unless dumped into Neptune's waters again. Because the experience, many offworlders lose themselves to the seas, never to return, while others attempt to take Neptune's waters with them, only for the magic to be lost once out of the planet's orbit.
  • The skies of Uranus, by contrast, don't cause offworlders to spout wings and Uranus is full of imposing cliffs that make the world a place few would like to visit for its atmosphere. However, when placed within the same temperature and pressure zone that cause changes in biological sex, offworlders are more sensitive to the effects. Whereas the changes can take hours to days for native Uranus residents, for offworlders the changes take place in less than five minutes. In addition, while there are static zones that guarantee a shift from male to female, the entire world has migratory change zones much like Earth has storms. For native born residents of Uranus, these moving storms have no effect, but for offworlders these the effects can be random, rarely with full conversion from one sex to the other, while much more often specfic aspects will be changed at piecemeal. The changes can also occur at random; it is not uncommon for an offworlder to fall asleep on Uranus even in what is thought to be a safe zone and wake up with their body changed. Any changes tend to stick for a minimum of several hours (meaning, for instance if a person were to be changed, that person would not be changed by a second storm that would hit in a few minutes) and are not undone when leaving Uranus, and many an unfortunate traveler has gotten "caught in a storm" just before leaving Uranus and now possess secondary sex characteristics other than the ones they were born. However, if there is an unwanted change, depending on the severity, it can be reverted by going to a designated zone for the effect that is wanted. For those looking to change their bodies in a specific way and do not want to go through the services provided elsewhere in the Silver Millennium, a trip to Uranus offers an alternative to other medical care, but many are wary of potentially visiting a planet and not leaving with the same body they landed with.
  • Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus are locked into a human "form" of the female sex, but the tradeoff is their powers are much stronger than that of a ordinary person of their planets.
  • Queen Serenity and Princess Serenity would be the weakest on Earth during a new Moon, being busted down to normal humans like Inuyasha.
  • The Rainbow Crystal carriers were not the only Dark Kingdom residents reborn as humans. There is a small but significant population of Youma who fought for the Dark Kingdom, but were reborn on Earth as humans. With the defeat of Beryl and Metallia, though, there is no way to reactivate them as full time Youma outside of negative/Chaotic energy. However, the disaster that leads directly to Crystal Tokyo does just that and as part of the aftermath, they are cleansed and turn back into humans. Their memories remain unlocked at the rise of Crystal Tokyo, and afterward they are able to shift between forms at will. (The same is true for the Seven Great Youma, and Mercury's prefers Ryo in his Bunbo form...:vanish:.)
  • The Makaiju was in full bloom during the Silver Millennium and sent a representative to the Silver Millennium. Despite the ambassador being on good terms with the queen, they did not form a union. Subconsciously the Makaiju headed to Earth after going from planet to planet because of lingering genetic memory of the good will that came from that solar system and the precious "love" it had remembered experiencing.
  • En was supposed to be Sailor Makaiju and had Luna recognized it could have activated her as such....without even understanding why.
  • Fiore was a child of the Makaiju who was able to wean himself from dependency on it and the energy of other life forms, but at the cost of being able to adapt to any planetary atmosphere for very long. He bonded with that evil flower not just due to wanting to give a flower to Mamoru, but because he needed to bond with an intelligent plant to survive on a planet or asteroid.
  • The increased population of Earth is due to the people from the Silver Millennium being reborn on Earth. That means most people alive today once lived in the Silver Millennium.
  • The rise of Crystal Tokyo didn't just confer extended life, but also gave the populace superpowers. For the vast majority of humanity, their new powers were the powers from their previous lives and were related to the planet they were once associated with. Only people without past lives or those who were Eartthlings in their past lives would have "random" powers. However, the Sailor Guardians were still leagues above everyone else, so it's sort of like My Hero Academia where nearly everyone has powers but only theose both powerful and trained enough (in this case, Neo-Queen Serenity and the Sailor Guardians) would use them against world-wide threats. (You can see where I'm going with this...yeah, this means the cleansing is a punishment as it busts supers back to human...but in Neo-Queen Serenity's defense it's only meant to be a temporary lock. It's still problematic, of course.)
  • This also means that those who had past lives were given the bodies of their past lives. so the rise of Crystal Tokyo means that a lot of merfolk take to the seas and a lot of winged folk take to the skies. They also receive the memories of their past lives, which changes their mentality. Obviously, the people who would make up what would later be the Black Moon Clan are made up on those who aren't reborn, which is why they have a completely different view of death -- they never died before while most of Crystal Tokyo had. (Pretty easy to be a death cult when you never lost your life before.)
  • When Small Lady Serenity becomes the new Queen Serenity, she sends the people on Earth who were from other planets in their past lives back to their planets in a relocation program, and the vast majority voluntarily go. Those that stay on Earth tend to lose their unique powers within two generations.
  • The Sailor Guardians eventually ascend to be Queens of their own people, but their children are not Sailor Guardians, just royalty. The tie between princess and Guardian is broken with this generation. The Queens also go back to their home planets to rule, although they still visit Earth very often.
  • Rei had a short-lived career as an idol before "retiring" at the ripe age of 22 to take care of the shrine, only for Crystal Tokyo to arise to scuttle that plan. Minako had a similar path, except she graduated into acting and became a very popular actress and became very well known, to the point where more people know Minako Aino than Sailor V.
  • The magic disguise that prevented people from recognizing the Sailor Guardians fades upon the rise of Crystal Tokyo, so everyone knows who they are now.
  • Shingo brags that he's practically royalty as a pickup line, only to be reminded that while he is Usagi's brother, he's not in line to the throne.
  • The extension of lifespan also undoes menopause for those who have gone through it. One consequence of this is Usagi and Shingo get a new sister, even though Usagi obviously no longer lives with her Earth family.

Yeah, I have a lot of crazy thoughts.

*I mean literal fear of water, not rabies.

Here's a weird headcanon I got with no evidence: In the Manga, the BMC humans that are with Wiseman/Death Phantom were all Artificial Human/Droids created by him as a way of not being alone in Nemesis with none of the BMC ever realizing this.

I think Takeuchi originally planned for Uranus and Neptune to betray Usagi once Usagi and the Kinmoku Senshi went to Saguitarius Zero Star in the manga like the anime instead of them meeting Lethe and Mnemosyne, she changed the plot because some of her concepts were rejected by Bandai and TOEI.

90s Headcanon: After sealing Chaos into herself, Galaxia, upon sensing the Silver Crystal and it fading (due to Serenity using the crystal to fight Metallia), sends the Makaiju tree to Earth while she gathers and takes on the rest of the galaxy in order to reawaken the starseeds of the Inner Senshi to take for herself.

Sailor Transformations increase intelligence as well as speed, strength, durability, etc.
This explains the gap in competence between untransformed Usagi Tsukino and Sailor Moon. It is also most pronounced there.
Mastery of the Silver Crystal greatly increases Usagi's intelligence to go from "academically challenged" to "smarter than every US politician combined" by the Crystal Tokyo era.

In your headcanon, does she send Pharaoh 90 too to awaken the Outers?

Would that mean it would be a better idea for Usagi to transform, then go to her room and change into her regular blouse and school skirt and study and take tests that way? Even when the fabric gets torn to shreds with the R movie, she still had the stamina of a charging rhino.

That depends... do you mean what I actually believe is happening off screen or what I wish could happen? Well, a little bit of both then! :-P
  1. That Princess Serenity/Serena had a father in the Moon Kingdom. He died shortly after the child was born, protecting his baby and his wife, Queen Serenity, from Nehelania.
  2. That the Tsukino's are dead by the time of Crystal Tokyo and that this forces Serena/Usagi to grow up and become NQS full time.
  3. That Sammy/Shingo is alive and active in Crystal Tokyo but out of respect for Mama and Papa Tsukino declines the magics and title his big sister offers him. Instead, he brings glory to the Tsukino name as a hot shot mech pilot!
  4. That in the generations after the establishment of Crystal Tokyo, it became customary for the monarchs of Crystal Tokyo to foster their children with mundane couples so that, like NQS, they might learn humility. (Most often with their distant kin, the Tsukinos decended from Samm/Shingo!)
  5. That in the thousands (or tens of thousands?) of years after NQS, people will say that Earth was always under the rule of a single royal family from the line of Endymion and that its sister house (that of Serenity) always ruled the Moon. Yes there were a few years after Queen Beryl ruined everything that Endymion and Serenity had to go into hiding but the Golden Kingdom and the Moon Kingdom were promptly revived. (No, I mean seriously how ignorant is Joe Average of real life history, even that of his own country?)
  6. That NQS is not the Queen Regnant of Crystal Tokyo, she is Queen Consort only--queen because she is the King's wife. See Endymion reclaimed his throne as King of the Earth--I mean it is his planet. Flip side, is that NQS is the Queen Regnant of the Moon, and her husband is there reckoned as King Consort--just the queen's husband.
  7. NQS and Endymion have UK style constitutional monarchy whereby the government is run by parliament and prime minister. Inasmuch that NQS is at heart an older and wiser version of Serena/Usagi but still Serena/Usagi... she would be a mess at government paperwork. Ceremonial duties like giving speeches, visiting the sick and poor, promoting friendship with other countries, however is just a bigger version of what she already does as Sailor Moon
  8. That civilization as we knew it full during the Second Ice Age that led to Crystal Tokyo... but that some nations did survive and are even now sovereign states allied with but independent of Crystal Tokyo, namely the United Kingdom, the Daimond Kingdom and the Amethyst Kingdom.
That's all I can think of right now. What do you say? :)

I always think the Moon & the Earth are a dual monarchy like the Austro-Hungarian Empire back then, hence the couple are the rulers of both celestial objects. :)

Sailor Cosmos is a possible future and not a guaranteed one.
America was the last country to stand against Crystal Tokyo before ultimately failing. (At least in the manga)
Pharaoh 90 is significantly stronger than Death Phantom.
Mistress 9 was supposed to be a Sailor Guardian for the Tau system before she was corrupted by Pharaoh 90.

Jupiter was originally meant to be part of the Outers but it was decided that Serenity wanted more protection for her daughter so she chose Jupiter to join the Inners.
That... actually makes a lot of sense. Thumbs up!

:-P The End of America, eh? :-P

As an American myself I thought about it. My idea is that America self-destructed after the Ice Age/Cataclysm and was not able to rebuild. Nothing dramatic, just that when you have two Americans you get three different opinions--there was too much infighting.

No, America doesn't exist anymore, but Americans do. It's a sort of cultural identity or civil religion. California and the West Coast might have sworn loyalty to NQS and Endymion. The New England states are an independent nation. And yet they (and anyone really who believes in freedom and its symbols) still acknowledge each other as Americans no matter where they live.

So yeah, it's night in Crystal Tokyo and Rini/Chibi-Usa asks her parents, why are those people lighting fireworks? They explain that those people, their parents came to CT a long time ago from a place once called America and that July 4th is a special day to them.

Sailor Cosmos is a possible future and not a guaranteed one.
So she's just a version of Cosmos among an infinite number of other ones, coming from one of an infinite number of alternative timelines.

Mistress 9 was supposed to be a Sailor Guardian for the Tau system before she was corrupted by Pharaoh 90.
Sailor Tau?

That's just like the Chinese diaspora around the world acknowledging each other as Chinese & celebrating their traditional festivities in the same way, etc., even if they have different political/religious beliefs & backgrounds - it's the so-called "cultural China." So there could also be a "cultural America" even after the country has ceased to exist. :)

Nehelenia in the anime, unlike in the manga, is not an incarnation of Chaos. This is shown by her capability to feel remorse and change as a person. (I would still say that anime Metalia, Death Phantom, and Pharaoh 90 could still be Chaos entities though)

None of the big villains are fragments of Chaos in the 90’s anime.
