No Kagawa, please no Kagawa... Hos new renditions were hideous. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/xpMAAOSwrf9i43fj/s-l1600.jpg
Very unfortunate... Itou and Tamegai could co-design though.
I personally dislike Itoh's new style. It's like Tadano's. Overall flat and uninspired.

Tamegai, on the other hand, still has a cheerful style and improved by miles with anatomy. Especially with necks. Even if I'm not a fan of the IPs she is working on, her new drawings always bring me joy.

Can you share something of Ithou's new style?

Another reboot, I don't really see the point. If something has to be done, it needs a sequel with Sailor Cosmos, and the future. Because resuming Sailor Moon without Kotono will be funny to Japanese fans and others.
People can easily get used to new seiyu for Usagi and others.
Change of voice isn't a matter of better, or worse, just different.

Kotono returned in reboot, and I am glad that she was a star again, but if someone else, like Kana Hanazawa, or Rie Kugimiya, Yukari Tamura, or someone else voiced Usagi, I'm sure they would have done amazing job.

I don’t see Naoko creating more stories, personally.

If a new anime or adaptation ever happens, I think she will have to let other people take control.

At the same time, she is the author and authors have the right of saying when their stories end.

Because Sailor Moon is so iconic all over the world, I do see Netflix wanting to adapt it… as it is adapting “Yu Yu Hakusho.”

Who knows what the future holds?

Tamegai is a man, same thing as Tadano's husband whose first name sounds like a woman but isn't.

The 35th anniversary would be around 2027. My guess would either be another live action reboot, or a brand new spin off centered around a completely new character since Naoko made comments about having an idea for a brand new Sailor Guardian.

Personally, if I had any say, I would love if we got a anime musical movie that was a tribute to the Sailor Moon musicals. Anza seems to be heavily involved in the franchise again, so she would be a worthy replacement for Mitsuishi Kotono if she got to voice Usagi.

Well, I will say that at Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon got a pretty solid transformation. It looked on par with a basic Pretty Cure one.. (you know...the barrettes taking 3 years to appear per odango.) Her transformation looks better that the Usagi one with those sharp looking wings..::eeklez:

It seems like her transformation was consistent the entire time.

I really wish I could have the Cosmos movie rushed to me...I'm wanting it to be before December..lol

I really want to believe that there will be post Kotono Mitsuishi era of Sailor Moon anime, but who knows.

IMO, it would be for the best if new anime was its own thing like 90s series - take familiar characters, story, and concepts, but don't copy manga 1:1.

Develop villains, reimagine relationships, add new stuff, and yeah, have filler for girls to bond with each other.
I thought you're talking about PGSM. :P

Whatever it might be… it certainly would be nice if TOEI is out of the picture.

TOEI is a studio that will stop funding and cancel a project if it deems not profitable. Poor marketing research.

I love Crystal seasons 1–3, but at the same time seasons 1–3 could have had the same character designs (consistency) and the more polished quality of the films.

I'd like an anthology show of Sailor Moon, in which various famous creators/producers of classic anime of various genres were invited to do their own takes on a Sailor Moon story. :D
I like to see a CLAMP short story of Sailor Moon, I like to see Miyuki chan in Sailor Moon land.

@kasumigenx *throws up* Aaaah stop, that one was awful! @Rika-Chicchi "Miyuki-chan in Wonderland" was a 2-part, One Shot Hentai (!) made by CLAMP of all people, and both sub-stories together even barely add up to ~half an hour or so.

Dunno if it's safe to mention, but... By 'awful' I actually mean senseless rather than really perverted: The Protagonist must play Strip-Chess against her own reflection, and the loser will have to get nekkid. I mean, cm'on? Ding dong, hello? Anybody home? The two girls totally look the same!

Thx for the info. :) Considering that CLAMP's works are of various genres, I wouldn't be surprised if they've written hentai ones too. lol

Miyuki Chan has Sailor Moon spoofs, I want to CLAMP to go all the way and have the actual Sailor Senshi appear in Miyuki Chan in Wonderland.

Yeah, and in one of the spoof manga of Miyuki Chan we have Haruka, Michiru, Usagi, Rei, and Makoto expys who are waitresses trying to rip off the dress off Miyuki.

I like seeing Miyuki being stripped by Galaxia and the Animamates due to the Sailor Moon Cosmos movie.

Probably not. Unless it brings new content to the story or is an adaptation of the Sailor V manga, chances are we won’t be seeing something SM-related in anime form. A Netflix Live Action most likely will happen than another anime if it’s approved.
I guess it's a good thing for me that the last time I watched 90s anime was years ago, and from Crystal I only saw first 3 episodes, so I actually have quite a lot to look forward.
I planned to do that marathon earlier, but life happened.

That said, it does kind of suck that this is it.

People on Internet who complain about their fav franchises being milked, or "ruined" by new content, IMO, have no idea how lucky they are.
