Michiru is heavily implied to be bi in the 90’s anime (see her flirting with Seiya when she thought they were a cis male) so you could theoretically ship that version of her with a man and it wouldn’t contradict.
Manga Michiru on the other hand… Naoko’s version of her is Word of God canonically confirmed to be a lesbian as per the Materials Collection.
Eh, I would argue Venus/Kunzite had some chemistry (though only in the manga cause Crystal pretty much ruined them lmao), not any of the others though.

And I speculate that Naoko got very upset with TOEI switching the gender of the Three Lights to men.
I think Naoko wanted to establish a relationship between Seiya and Usagi. There are moments in the “Infinity” arc in which Usagi and Haruka show mutual attraction for each other and I think that’s what Naoko intended to duplicate in “Stars.”
Changing the gender of Seiya to male changed Naoko‘s original concept.
I disagree Clow I don't think she wanted a relationship with Usagi and Seiya honestly Seiya pretty much served as a replacement Mamoru till Mamoru was resurrected in the end.
Honestly I found the Three Lights very reductive and I wish they had been male Sailor Senshi full stop. After all if Tuxedo Mask can be a male Senshi/Planetary Guardian why can't other's be shown and it would be interesting if they were male Senshi maybe Starlight Knights that guarded Princess/Sailor Kakyuu.
Honestly I think I would have even omitted the Seiya/Usagi unrequited love. I would have probably have had that Seiya was Princess Kakyuu's lover not the unnamed oned that died to Sailor Galaxia and that Seiya and Usagi's bond were essentially them coping with the loss of their true loves not any kind of romantic attraction to either party.

Call me crazy, but I have the impression that Naoko Takeuchi ships Usagi and Haruka.
Naoko Takeuchi is a huge fan of the Takarazuka Revue (all-female theatre, women disguised as men) and she wrote in the materials collection that Haruka was affiliated with the Takarazuka Revue.
Then we have the Stars arc and we have three girls disguised as boys and one of them falls in love with Usagi.
I may be completely wrong, but it’s the vibe I got.
She does in fact, she’s the only other Senshi who Usagi gets the most ship-teases with in the manga, even Seiya doesn’t get as much, that was mostly only a 90’s anime thing, though we do get confirmation she’s crushing on Usagi in the manga too.
Naoko even wrote an image song for Megumi Ogata to sing on the subject of Haruka’s feelings for Usagi and Toei/Ikuhara retroactively revised it to be about HaruMichi instead and supposedly Naoko got pissed.

I’m not sure, probably had something to do with making sure Chibi-Usa is born.
Also remember that at the time Haruka as a character hadn’t been preconceived in advance, she was just a new idea Naoko had in her mind when forced to continue the manga.
