Why didn't they continue with the 4 LEGENDARY GUARDIAN BEASTS inspired attacks in Sailormoon R.

We all know in the early episodes of Sailormoon R we got to see our favorite inner senshi display a new form of attack. 2 of them are derived from the 4 guardian beasts.

sailormars - firesoul bird is derived from the Vermilion Bird of the South
saiilorjupiter - supreme thunder dragon is derived from the Azure Dragon of the East

that leaves mercury and venus. I wonder why they didn't continue incorporating those inspired attacks with the two remaining guardian beasts. the black tortoise and white tiger.

sailor mercury is the bearer of the Black Tortoise of the North.
sailor venus is the bearer of the White Tiger of the West.

Tortoise is water based so it can be tapped to mercury's power. The tiger has claws shaped like crescent that can be incorporated to Venus powers.

Mercury didn't have offensive attacks during Sato's tenure as director, and she and Venus clearly had the least power level out of the main bunch.
Jupiter, Mars and Moon defeated two enemies each during the Classic finale (Moon had purification and assistance at her side during combat, but Endymion and Beryl definitely count anyway). While Venus killed only one DD Girl and Mercury just managed to destroy their illusion stone.
They had power ranks lower than the rest, so I guess the staff though it didn't make sense for them to have attacks visually impressive as Jupiter's dragon.

Tbh I don't know you would work in the Tortoise and White Tiger into Mercury and Venus attacks without it looking derpy.

A burning phoenix seems pretty logical for an attack for a soldier with fire powers and a lightning dragon works well enough visually

But Mercury making a tortoise out of her bubbles? Venus Crescent beam turning into a tiger? Yeah that's kind of doofy even for Sailor Mercury. Giving Mercury bubbles that can freeze now and turning Venus beam into a shower of beams felt more natural as upgrades of their original attacks

Black Tortoise is actually Dragon+Tortoise.

Tiger might be a bit odd though.

I was definitely throwing out what I had heard. I haven't seen Pokemon in ages but I do love Eevee. Didn't know Radeon was a non Poke.
I love this topic though because those attacks were really great.

Mars having a firebird and serpent is interesting. I like that when she does summon the firebird it seems to have the ability to dodge attacks which is pretty neat on its own. I've been told Mars Snake Fire eats energy. But alongside that it will eat the enemy, carry them a distance, basically roasting them alive while traveling before exploding to finish them off.

Jupiter's dragon was so massive that I can't imagine anything she had after it being as strong or scaling as many enemies. I mean if I remember correctly it dwarfs the enemy completely and then devours them and electrocutes them.


While Venus Love Me Chain is the most useful attack known to man, her Crescent Beam Shower made sure that the enemy was not dodging any of those beams easily.

In theory, these attacks should be powerful. Almost universally feared because I would imagine that once they upgrade their powers their attacks should be even stronger. So we should be getting Super versions of theses (if they were canon).

I really hate how Mars Snake Fire was interpreted in crystal. it is no way near how awesome it's artwork is in the manga. they should have animated it similar to the fire snake in Harry Potter. Everytime i see that scene in harry potter i always shout... MARS SNAKE FIREEEEEEEE. That is how close we can get Snake Fire in the live adaptation. it looks freaking scary and deadly.

They can add something interesting or twist the words a bit it while still keeping the concept if they know it won't work like how flawless Mars and Jupiter attack sounds.

My idea........

Shabon Spray TURTLE DIVE (i use turtle instead of tortoise lol) - attack shaped like a turtle will circle around the enemy creating whirpool and dive at it.. it will then explode.... freezing the enemy as an effect.

venus crescent TIGER CHARGE - the tip of the crescent beam will form a tiger made of blinding light and it will charge at the enemy slicing it with its claws.

hahaha. i love my playful mind. LOL
