Why is Naoko so distant from her fans?

Her last appearance was with that Russian figure skater Sailor Moon fan. She only made one con appearance and I think it might've been too much for her to handle. I really wish she had a twitter or something and would be more open, but with the way some Sailor Moon fans are acting these days I would distance myself from my fans too. :o She was a one hit wonder with Sailor Moon and became very rich off of it and now can enjoy a quiet, happy life with her family. Naoko doesn't owe us fans anything unless she feels like it. :o

some people are just shy. it's like with the Star Wars events. you see Carrie (leia) and Mark (luke) at those events and talking at the panels. but you don't see harrsion (han) that much. as he doesn't seem to want to chat much about SW. but Carrie said something about get him drunk and he just keeps talking

I think Naoko may have based Ami-Chan on herself truth be told I know Usagi's family members are based and named after her own family but I cannot see Usagi being based on Naoko herself

Honestly, this is fairly common with mangakas in Japan. Naoko may be a bit more shy than some are, but mangakas tend to be pretty private people.

IIRC she said Michiru was the hardest character for her to write because she was the most like herself. (It was in the notes in one of the Tokyopop manga volumes.)

I think Naoko related to Sailor Moon more because of her personal struggles to writing Sailor Moon. She has stated she wanted to quit writing Sailor Moon, cried a lot. Because the work was too much to deal with. But when she reads her fan mail and listen to her colleges of encouragement to continue on-that was her source of strength to continue to write Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon dealt with similar personal issues. I truly think Naoko used Sailor Moon as her alternate universe self to cope with writing Sailor Moon-as time goes on being more difficult to expand new storyline for Sailor Moon.

In reality, every character has connections to Naoko. But I do agree-Ami is the most personality wise I see in her. lol

actually I find Ami-Chan looks like Miss Takeuchi as well (not counting the blue hair obviously)

It is interesting that most people consider Ami the closest to Naoko Takeuchi in personality when she herself stated that in the manga she thought Usagi was the closest to her in personality. However I do see how people see a lot of Ami in Naoko.

Well that is true , but sailor moon fan base is probably the most terrifying . Next to the steven universe fandom.

Naoko is def a Usagi. Some people like privacy though. I remember when Amy Jo Johnson used to go to fan events until she got a serial stalker. Some fans get real.... Lol
