Is Netflix popular over in France? With the Japanese Blu Ray release coming out a few weeks after the Netflix release Netflix will be the only place to watch it, unless people just wait for the Netflix rip.!
Yeah lot of people have a Netflix subscription here I suppose it’s as popular as everywhere else in most countries ? It seems to be dominant versus Amazon prime Tv or Apple TV.
Sailormoongalaxy isn’t far from truth though: lot of people have cheap mentality and use pirate torrents for a lot of things, even people who are supposedly fans. People screaming because they believe 30 euros for a full season of an old show is too expensive...

Me being in Japan I’m guessing the ‘international’ release won’t apply here and will not be appearing on Netflix in Japan anytime soon. I doubt they would wanna sabotage the Blu Ray’s sales. So I guess I’ll be watching via a proxy!
Netflix is a hit in France. But the French Sailor Moon fanbase illegally download their favorite series. Kazé France's DVD sales were not great at all.

In fact, French Sailor Moon fans are rats. On the other hand, to buy a manga, a figurine which can cost 60 €, they buy, but for a DVD, they download.

Sailor Moon Crystal, on French TV, on Canal J. You had to pay a subscription to watch, fans hacked the series instead of supporting the legal offer. The series flopped audiences, and Canal J refused season 3, because of the flop.

In France, even a DVD at 5 €, people illegally download the film ... Because the French say too expensive.

On the other hand, when you see the French going to the store to buy alcohol which costs € 15 a bottle, cigarettes at € 10, they have the money. But when it comes to putting the money in a DVD, CD, Netflix, they won't.

Oh, that sucks! I guess the mentality varies country to country. Japan being one of the only countries in the world where piracy was never a huge issue. Disappointing though that even the ‘hardcore’ fans won’t support an official release.

You guys are lucky in my eyes though. I’m originally from the UK and the last official release we ever got was a DVD boxset of the first two seasons (90’s American dub only) around 2002-2003. I remember as a kid wondering if I’d ever be able to watch the rest of the series!

I hope it won't take long for Blu-ray releases outside Japan because of Netflix.
Pokémon Mewtwo strikes back Evolution got its Blu-ray release 6 months after its Netflix premiere here in Germany.

German, Italian and French voices sound so good. I wanna watch it in German, as I have very fond memories, plus they have the original German voice, and the whiney second one that started after season 1. I find it odd, considering the second actress while not as good, should be more popular, she did it for 4 seasons. I wandered even back in 2014 what god made them chose her instead of the voice that was in most seasons.

I think the strategy is very well done considering how things work in western countries vs Japan. As other have mentioned, in Europe and Latin America - from what I know- people dont buy DVD/Bluray discs ( or music ) anymore like they do in Japan. They pay ( and share most of the times with friends or family ) for streaming services. Im from Spain and piracy here is WILD. It makes sense they went first for a Netflix release ( it's the most popular streaming service in Europe ) and in Japan since piracy is almost inexistent and they are still paying for physical copies, make a big release there in this format.

Same here. Piracy is wild and essentially nobody cares. I still buy things that I really like in physical copy. I wonder was that always the plan, or they wanted to do theatrical release here and there and changed their mind because of the pandemic. The only minus is that there are some mainstream audience that don't even know, somehow, Crystal existed and see it on Netflix now think it is a brand new thing. They will be really confused.

Brazilian Portuguese dub

Confirmed so far:

ADR Director: Flora Paulita

Agatha Paulita (Usagi/Sailor Moon)

http://instagr.am/p/COL_vzvDcYW/

Ursula Bezerra (Chibi-Usa/Sailor ChibiMoon; reprising from the 90s anime)

Daniela Piquet (Moon from R-Stars) was invited to reprise her role, but declined (probably because of getting a lot of hate for her work on Sailor Moon over the years). Marli Bortoletto, the voice from season 1, auditioned, but Toei thought she sounded too different from the original and didn't approve her. Agatha, Flora's (the voice director) sister, got the role instead. I'm optimistic about Agatha, but not at all about Ursula's return.
Her voice sounded too raspy and even a bit tomboyish for Chibiusa back in the early 2000s, let alone now, after years of voicing Naruto and stuff.
Fernanda Bullara (Jupiter number 2) also gave hints she's coming back.

I don't know how it look like for you in your country but in Austria / Germany the SM Trailer Video is the most popular right now on the Netflix Facebook Pages with more than 200k Views and nearly 8000 Likes (normally series are around 200/400 Likes). I feel something huge coming....

Somehow if Crystal had started 2 or 3 years later on this platform I'm sure the success of Crystal would have been very different...

Funniest thing happened to me yesterday. I was at the airport waiting on ground transportation but was walking around lost, as usual. This lady randomly comes out of nowhere and is like do you need help and she said I looked like I needed help and agree and thank her. Less than a minute later, she comments on my facemask (A custom Sailor Mlon mask with the 5 Inner Senshi)... yes, I walk in public as a grown adult male wearing Sailor Moon apparel.

She is like that was my favorite cartoon. I love Sailor Moon!

I told her about the Eternal movies on Netflix and she also knew about it apparently and we just walked and talked Sailor Moon as she led me to the departure pickup.

I love connecting with random Moonies.

Everyone is excited and talking about the Netflix premiere. I wearing my mask today at Mall to continue to celebrate.

Maybe they know how popular it has always been there so the trailer starts with German.
