Yes, they translated it. That's the first time in the German crystal dub they did this, so I hope they didn't translate all other attacks too. ^_^'
I fear the worst. If they translated that, they will translate the others ... Unless it is Netflix's desire to translate that for the youngest.

At least they say in German “the planetS sailor” not like in the French version “La planète”
Yeah I hope they handled more properly the other transformations and attacks sentences. At least it’s translated, imagine if the French VA had to say English attacks… With our notoriously bad English accent, that would have been so bad XD

Not necessarily it could be also just because the name of “this” attack is kind of different than the others. “Sailor Planet Power” sound somehow more like a normal sentence than the usual invocation attacks. Actually it sound horrible in French but it’s really “la planète” and not Planets… but they could have translated as “Pouvoir planétaire Sailor”.

It could be also changed at the end in the movies, I read that it’s also frequent than trailers are often re-dub to win some time and not taken directly from the actual audio track. :artemis:::tuxspeedmask:

Being a Sailormoon fan is such an experience… They let us without any news for years but when they finally release something, we have non stop dramas and fights about every single second of the material for YEARS ^^ I will miss it in some weeks I guess, when we won’t get any new for some time.

Lol, all of the Latin Spanish dub actresses are indeed grandmas...I wonder how Naoko allowed them to use them. Isn't she choosing the languages in Crystal for each dub?

In France, yes. It was validated by her.
Afterwards, based on the statements of the Spanish or Portuguese cast, she gave orders on certain things. After that, I don't think that she is strict on the voices as long as certain instructions are respected, she has to close her eyes.

Naoko isn't bothered by voices as much as she is by translation.
Anyway, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, Saturn and Luna all have new, young voices in the Latin Spanish dub of Crystal. They aren't "all grandmas".

Well, most of them are... I never knew most of them are actually this old. Usagi is completely off. I mean she has always been and in the 90s it was more or less for comedic effect, but with Crysternal. The "I will punish you part"...

If the French dub translated "Sailor Planet Power" as "Pouvoir de la planete Sailor" ("Power of the Sailor Planet"), does that mean in the French dub continuity there's a planet called "Sailor" and thus, potentially, a Sailor Guardian named "Sailor Sailor"? :googly::lol:
I love it ! After all we are said in the Stars Arc there are planets for various things in the galaxy so why not this ahaha !
By the way Moon is using « vous » to talk to Neherenia, which is « you » in a polite way, that’s interesting but I thought she would be more familiar with her considering Queen is dead like 5 minutes later lol
About the French voices, it’s weird because I think they are too childish and my boyfriend thinks they sound too much adult.

Well, acoording with the director of the first three seasons, her client asked for the og voices from the 90's (along with all the old names) but manga/crystal fans were not happy with that (at least with the names), so they revert the names back to the japanese one and they had to redub again (I mean, you can hear how they call Usagi "Serena" at the end of act 2 lmao).

For netflix I guess they just wanted to continue with the same cast (but I heard they changed Luna's voice idk)

"Client" means distributor, therefore the client for Crystal is Toei. Naoko is a supervisor.
And they reverted to the original names due to a request by Naoko, it had nothing to do with fans. They had even voted for the modified names in a poll sent to Toei.

Was it really a wish of Naoko Takeuchi? Because a lot of professional people always say "Japanese rights holders are responsible not us".
If it was Naoko, she would have forced France, Italy to use the English terms of transformations or others, and there nothing.
After I believe you, don't worry. But it's strange the thought of Naoko.

I meant the character names.

anyone know the source on this? new moon pride is usually pretty accurate so i believe them, but this sucks if true, especially to gain honorifics midway thru the new series. when i saw "mamo-chan" i assumed it was just this nickname gaining an honorific which imo isnt so bad
