Would pre-rebirth Saturn stand a chance against Galaxia?

Saturn is likely one of the most powerful Senshi in the universe. Likely #3 behind Moon/Galaxia that we know of but sadly both incarnations never really were able to show that big of a battle against Galaxia. Would Saturn before her rebirth give Galaxia more of a run for her money and possibly win the battle? Likely wouldn't put the same exact end to Chaos but could likely set it back significantly.

Likely, she would bring about another rebirth or maybe she'd learn how to bring that singularity to Galaxia/Chaos domain.

Yes, but the team got to set up for her to unleash her full energy, they just stood there when Galaxia was talking.

I think both her older & younger incarnations have the same level of power, which isn't affected by her physical look/age at all. In any case, no chance, because Takeuchi & the anime writers wouldn't allow it to happen.

In the manga, Galaxia kills Hotaru when Hotaru is in her civilian form, isn’t that right?

Yes she was. I saw it clearly in the panel when Galaxia killed Pluto and her while Pluto held Hotaru's hand.
