Their parent company owns Sunrise (a group of animation studios), Bandai Namco Pictures (a spinoff of Sunrise) and Bandai Namco Arts (anime & music production studio formerly Bandai Visual & Lantis) so I guess there's that too.

There also used to be anime licensing divisions here in the west with Bandai Entertainment (North America) & Beez Entertainment (Europe), both which closed up 10 years ago by order of their parent company.

The toy company, which originally only produced plastic model kits of anime mecha, always knows how to expand into or acquire various related but different businesses both horizontally & vertically over the decades, as this brief WikiMoon article on it shows:

Bandai - WikiMoon

So yeah, it's not just a toy company.

CLAMP's works for a young audience are also owned/sponsored by Bandai like MKR, Clamp Campus Detectives, and Card Captor Sakura, and I think CLAMP, Kodansha, and Bandai has Card Captor Sakura as their own cash cow which explains why CLAMP seems to prefer Card Captor Sakura over any other work.

My only hope is that we see corrected/refined and colored versions of the SM manga and the Stars arc of Crystal, that's it.

Now back on the topic. lol My hope is pretty simple: the pandemic would end quickly, so that any pending Sailor Moon productions could be out sooner. :)
Except the anime, pandemic or not, will continue to take years to finish. :P

If Bandai appears in the credits of those anime or other shows, that's probably because it's a commercial sponsor of them. :)
Oh that makes sense for Bandai to appear on those shows. Being a commercial sponsor makes more sense, and the actually maker of the show is another company. More than likely they appear because they make action figures of that anime. Lol

Oh so Bandai owns sunrise, i did not know that. I think that Bandai namco pictures is the name I saw on some anime’s but not many. This is my first time hearing of Bandai’s art division.

Yes Bandai Entrainment, I have seen that on many animes years ago, like two decades ago. That is the division that i am most familiar with. I have never heard of beez before. I actually thought Bandai went out of business all together, I am glad it was just their European, and North American divisions. Shame those went under but better than the entire company ala pretty much sears at this point.

I am shocked that are colored versions of the yugioh manga which ended much later than sailor moon, but no colored versions of the sailor moon manga yet. Both manga’s are overshadowed by their much lighter anime counterparts.

I want to see how they do stars in crystal myself. I don’t think we are getting anything else and I don’t blame nakeo, I am grateful I got access to sailor moon the way it is meant to be watched on Hulu, a new series, the new movies, the movies from the original version on you tube put up by viz and the manga is available to buy in various versions.

Bandai treats CLAMP better than they treat Naoko.

I would not be shocked if they treated clamp better than her. Sounds like she has gotten treated like dog poop at times. Just like a lot creators here in America. Guess it is a world wide problem.

Mokona of CLAMP was made the original character designer for Code Geass which is by Sunrise after the success of MKR, CCD, and CCS which are sponsored or produced by Bandai, Naoko got nothing like that after the failure of PQ Angels and the success of SM.

I am shocked that a character in code Geass, the franchise itself, mkr, ccd, ccs and all of those manga/animes got merch like that. However just because one of her projects failed nako who created a more iconic project in sailor moon could not get merch like that created. I don’t care if her new project was a failure, sailor moon alone should have gotten her new merchandise .

Naoko was not made a designer for any anime project outside of Sailor Moon like what happened to Mokona of CLAMP(Code Geass), Arina Tanemura(Idolish), and Yun Kouga(Gundam 00) despite SM being iconic.

Wow you mean they only called on her to do sailor moon projects, that sounds like what happened to Mark Hamill before he did BAS, she got typecasted this time as a creator. The fact they gave Monoka of clamp/code geass, and the creators of idolish and the creator of gundam a shot but not the creator of sailor moon is crap.

Even though though sailor moon is iconic, it’s creator do not get any credit for what they did by the people who run anime/manga.

I meant to say Arina Tanemura(the mangaka of Jeanne and Full Moon) was given Idolish, Yun Kouga(the mangaka of Loveless) was given Gundam 00 and Mokona(CLAMP) was given Code Geass to design characters for anime projects, and Naoko never had that kind of opportunity, I think she could grab that opportunity if it was given since she was doing Love Witch and Toki Meka in the 2000s.

Perhaps she could still design a Pretty Cure season.

I feel like I shouldn't be saying this, but Naoko is a very assertive creator, for better or worse. Some not good rumors about Toei or Kodansha with Naoko. Among other things, Naoko fell out with Ikuhara after R Movie, and some person say she kicked him out after SuperS.
It is TOEI that made him quit Sailor Moon because TOEI did not want to do his Harumichi Super S movie.
