I don't think I've ever talked about them, but I saw that 'Am I good enough' episode and loved the close ups.

I noticed they always have this extra thick outline on the noses. I feel like a decent portion if not most of the art directors did that but to me it feels more noticeable here. They draw a pretty nice Seiya in my opinion. Didn't think I'd ever say that about anyone.

This Galaxia part's really cool

Even with her big boobz, Cosmos!Galaxia can't rival. :p
The cosmos movies ruined her hair just as they did with neptune , when i saw the teasers i just felt that her hair was to generic and flat , it lost the magic that her hair had in the 90 anime.

It's from the ending credits of Ep.200 part of the final set of illustrations to end the series.

I just LOVE everything going on right here.
It's just PER-FECT!
There's just something magical in these 3 shots - the Art Style is perfect, the colors are vibrant, everyone has a different expression and body type - adore Mercury in this, everyone STANDS OUT and it's part of the magic and charm that seeps out of the 90s art.

In Crystermos, they tried to copy these group shots and well... no comment.

Tamegai shared duties with Kagawa on this final ending and you can easily notice Kagawa's shots, he namely did the very last shot of the series (as the most senior member?).
His style has noticeably grown even more sharper.

More from Yoshihiro Kitano. I'm really liking his stuff.

You could gaslight me into thinking these scenes were from a movie and it would work

Speaking of which; according to Ai no Senshi he worked on the SuperS movie. In way his art reminds me of Kagawa. I remember someone mentioning the small hips and banana [or something] fingers Kagawa gives them.

[I think Talentless fool went through this scene but I don't feel like going back though all forty of those pages to find the post]

How does Ikuko do that with the hair? The clothes actually look comfortable to wear [probably not in the artic though. ^_^'.

This is also cat face Usagi.

Other note: I remember Nadia mentioning how Ikuko would give them big ears.

This movie brought back Todao Kubota but with Kenichi Tajiki. I wonder why Kubota was specifically used in the movies. Are they high profile animators or something. I'm assuming they're responsible for these scenes.

Honestly surprised I don't see this picture used for ***AESTETIC*** edits and stuff, its perfect.

Love this part where Sailor Moon's floating through the black hole thingy.

I remember someone saying that the movie was an abuse of hair shininess. Honestly, completely true. This movie turned shininess into its sub. These parts with Chibiusa's hair actually remind me of Ikuko's stuff in the first season.

Tadao Kubota might have been relegated to movies by that time, he was also responsible as an artist for DBZ Movies 10-13 (from Spring of 1994 - Summer of 1996) the SuperS movie is during this time that he was on the DBZ movies for the Toei Manga Matsuri

As for Kenichi Tajiri, he came back on Sailor Stars, I wasn't able to determine what else he was doing between the SuperS movie and Sailor Stars. So here's the list of what he did from ANN: Kenichi TAJIRI - Anime News Network

I think this scene uses a multi-plane-camera. Ngl, that's kinda hot . Really using the movie budget. Was Ikuko Itoh also involved in the movie. I assumed that's the reason she got so few episodes in R. With that, I can't quite tell what parts are her's. About all of it reminds me more of Tadano's illustrations.

I'm heard Tadano was traumatized working on the movie. So traumatized she didn't want to see, hear, taste or even be in the same direction of Sailor Moon ever again. She successfully stayed away from the series until she was kidnapped and shackled to desk being forced to work on Etermos at gunpoint on a remote island at the orders of Naoko Takeuchi simply because she drew the hottest Mamoru.

So anyways, were there any Ikuko looking parts in the movie?

I think it's confirmed in her art book that she handled the last portion of the movie? @Hadibou

You can definitely see her touch on the hair, the softer curvature of the face and namely her characteristic rounder profile chin.

These also look like Itoh shots, only she adds this much detail on the hair.

From the looks of it, Ando handled the Inners vs Kisenian flower in the city then Kagawa took the reigns once Moon appears and namely did the night scene of the girls talking (if I'm not mistaken it's even confirmed Kagawa did the Mars and Moon dialogue scene).
Then, looks like it's mostly Tadano for the main battle on the Asteroid.
Itoh was also busy doing the 2nd Opening, still I wished she was able to do one last R episode with her legendary style of that particular era.

As for Tadao Kubota, I think it's a mistake on Ai no Senshi.
He is not an animator but an Art Director, meaning he handles all of the background, hand-drawn art, the landscapes, the skies etc.
Tadao KUBOTA - Anime News Network
He namely was the Art Director on Saint Seiya and his work on the 4th movie is outstanding!

Oh yes it’s totally her from the moment Fiore breaks the compact. This movie is s pretty omg.
And loving Michiru’s hair. She is the real only PURINSESU HIMESAMA of this franchise. She has such level of elegance and grace when drawn by Itoh…

I was re-watching episode 72 the other day and was surprised to see a segment was handled by Shinya Hasegawa.

It's right when Petz tries to throw herself into the portal.
